Imelda Powers is a Managing Director of Guy Carpenter based in Beijing. She has worked in catastrophe exposure management for over 20 years, in US, UK and now in China, servicing (re)insurers worldwide. Her projects include model development, statistical simulation, and insurance linked securities. Currently, she is active in model change management and model validations. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, she was Executive Vice President of the Catastrophe Modeling Group in TowersWaston. She chaired the Financial Working Group for the industry-sponsored loss modeling platform, OASIS.
Dr. Powers has published in academic and industry journals. She received her PhD in Operations Research, with a concentration in game theory, from Yale University.
