As head of MMC's global Human Resources function, further integrating diversity and inclusion into the everyday workings of our businesses is one of my four main objectives.
From the day I started at MMC in September 2008, MMC CEO Brian Duperreault has stressed the value he places on a diverse and inclusive workforce, and I could not agree more. In fact, one of my favorite comments from Brian on diversity is: "Diverse teams deliver better business results." It's a straightforward statement that sums up why diversity is important: It's not just about doing the right thing, it's about doing the right thing for the business. This is something that I have always believed, and I am excited to work with a CEO who shares that same perspective.
As part of our commitment to fostering and celebrating diversity in our workforce, MMC has established a firm-wide Diversity Council comprising senior leaders from our businesses. We have also appointed a Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion to focus solely on MMC's overall diversity and inclusion efforts. And we are working with internal and external partners to leverage our employee network groups, sponsorships, talent acquisition programs and supplier relationships to strengthen our position as a company where all colleagues feel motivated and supported to deliver their very best for our clients.
At MMC, we are fully committed to being a diverse and inclusive environment. It's a commitment that comes from the top and carries through our entire organization.
