Association for Financial Professionals

The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), headquartered outside Washington, D.C., is the professional society that represents finance executives globally. It provides news, economic research and data, treasury certification programs, networking events, financial analysis tools, training, and public policy representation to legislators and regulators.

The Global Risk Center works with the AFP on a wide range of topics linking risk management and corporate decision-making.

National Association of Corporate Directors

The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) supports corporate governance best practices through director education programs, peer exchange forums, and proprietary research. It is a USA-based organization whose 14,000 members are directors of public, private, and nonprofit organizations.

The Global Risk Center works the NACD on reports and events relating to risk oversight challenges and guidance for boards on how best to address their responsibilities.

World Energy Council

The World Energy Council (WEC) is an international organization that uses research and high-level events to promote the development of sustainable energy systems — those that are affordable, stable, and environmentally sensitive. It's 3,000 member organizations from across the world include governments, energy companies, and expert institutions.

The Global Risk Center works with the WEC to assess policies that can improve country-level performance with respect to balancing the energy trilemma of secure, affordable, and sustainable energy and how to enhance the resilience of energy infrastructure.

Wharton Risk Management and Decision Process Center

The Wharton School's Risk Management and Decision Processes Center is at the forefront of basic and applied research, building on the disciplines of economics, finance, insurance, marketing, psychology, and decision sciences to promote effective corporate and public policies for managing the risks associated with natural and technological hazards, and threats to national security.

The Global Risk Center works with Wharton on improving risk management and decision making associated with catastrophic events, among other topics.

Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) promotes policies that will improve the economic and social wellbeing of people around the world. Providing a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems, it analyses drivers of change, measures productivity, and sets international standards.

The Global Risk Center works with different parts of the OECD on two separate topics: best practices for governments in the management of critical risks and policy developments to facilitate long-term investment by institutional investors.

International Risk Governance Council

The International Risk Governance Council (IRGC) convenes events and develops reports to improve the understanding and governance of systemic risks that have impacts on human health and safety, on the environment, on the economy, and on society at large. It is a nonprofit and independent foundation whose network embraces public, private, and scientific institutions.

The Global Risk Center works with the IRGC on the characteristics of emerging risks and essential governance considerations for governments and industry.

The Global Risk Center works with WEF on its flagship Global Risks report, which taps into experts from across the world and informs the agenda of the WEF's annual meeting of global political and economic leaders in Davos.
