Chris McDermott is the practice leader of Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A Services practice in the Pacific region. The practice provides expert risk management advice and transaction solutions to financial sponsors and strategic investors in the region and around the world.
Chris is responsible for the seamless delivery of PEMA’s services to help corporations, private equity firms, alternative asset managers, lenders and infrastructure investors manage M&A risks. Chris has been instrumental in the development and enhancement of the warranty and indemnity (W&I) insurance market in the Pacific, where he has executed some of the most complex insurance programmes for M&A transactions. Chris has a proven track record of managing large scale projects, providing excellent client service and managing risk with an eye towards practical business concerns.
Prior to joining Marsh, Chris focused exclusively on transaction-related insurances (and especially W&I insurance) at another global insurance broker. Chris also practiced law in the United States, and has experience in mergers and acquisitions, PE, and general corporate matters at two large American law firms.
