Mark Weatherhead joined Guy Carpenter in 2006 and is currently Head of Strategic Advisory for South East Asia and Korea, based in Singapore. Mark is responsible for advisory around natural and man-made peril modeling, development of client view-of-risk, and climate change. Prior to moving to Singapore in 2021, Mark was Global Head of Model Development based in London, where he led a team responsible for the development of catastrophe models used to quantify risk and price reinsurance for countries and perils where commercial models are unavailable. Before joining Guy Carpenter, Mark worked as an environmental scientist at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research in New Zealand, specializing in risk and resource management consultancy. Mark holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
