Webinar: Identifying, assessing and managing behavioral health issues in the workplace

US employers are starting to take action on their own to address growing interest in behavioral health care

Workforce behavioral health concerns have always been present in a workplace environment. However, many of these behavioral healthcare issues are being amplified by an evolving multi-generational workforce, plan design changes, rising medical plan costs and the opioid epidemic – just to name a few. In our recent 10-Minute Survey on Behavioral Health Care, more than two-thirds of our respondents said access to outpatient behavioral health care was lacking. Today, many employers are starting to take action on their own and see an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as a vital partner to address the growing interest in behavioral health care.

Join us on August 6th as Mercer experts walk us through the survey results and further the discussion around some revealing key trends that include work-related stress, substance abuse and social determinants of health. While some of the results varied by size of organization, important and consistent themes merit a more robust discussion along with suggested strategies for action.

Discussion Topics:

  • Methods used in identifying and addressing behavioral health care issues in the workforce
  • Impact of behavioral health issues on medical plan cost and productivity
  • Effectiveness of behavioral health programs and steps for improvement
  • Understanding the role of an effective Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Substance abuse trends in the workforce and how to take action
